Webinar: Low Flow Trends in Ecologically Unique Stream Segments - September 13, 2023

September 13, 2023

The speakers will present new research on Texas stream flows that is highly relevant to the evaluation of the reliability of surface water rights issued by the State of Texas. This information is the type of evidence used by stakeholders who desire to protect existing legal rights or secure new legal rights to surface water pursuant to the Texas Water Code and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s regulations under the prior appropriation doctrine. In this study, the authors evaluated low flow trends in seven hydrologically unique stream segments from 1970 to 2019. Their findings provide new insights on the influence of climate on stream flow and the reliability of surface water rights issued by the State of Texas.
