Leah Cuddeback, Graphics Editor

Leah grew up in southern Illinois, just outside of St. Louis, Missouri and spent her childhood visiting Texas to spend time with her grandparents and the Blanco River. She moved to San Marcos for college and graduated from Texas State University in 2018 with a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and a minor in Honors Studies. At Texas State, she enjoyed leading mammalogy field trips to west Texas, studying teen volunteers at the Saint Louis Zoo, and driving glass bottom boats at Spring Lake.

She has spent the past decade in science education at the Saint Louis Zoo, El Ranchito at The Shield Ranch, and The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment. Leah currently works for the Hill Country Alliance as the Storytelling and Public Engagement Manager. At HCA, Leah manages the website, social media accounts, and newsletter as well as occasional community events and projects like HCA’s annual photo contest and Texas Hill Country Calendar.

Leah enjoys spontaneous road trips, spring-fed rivers, and is passionate about inspiring others to protect the natural resources and scenic beauty that originally drew her to Texas.
